Strong winds with the speed of up to 100mph and heavy rain hit the northwest of Britain causing power outages and serious flood on November 11, 2010. Ten days’ rain falling in just one hour created 6ft deep floodwaters and forced hundreds of people homeless just overnight. A resident from Cornwall still scarily remembered, “I came down this morning to find my hallway, kitchen and sitting room were awash with water.” A landside has blocked main train line into Cornwall, cutting off the county from the rest of England.
