25 Things About Me: General Knoxx from Borderlands in Pandora

Written by Podunker:The Liztress

Finding General Knoxx was hard to do, not because of his location but the fact that he claims to be in the future. Once we found the time he was in, it was all a matter of following the signs to his Secret Armory. General Knoxx was all too happy to speak to us as he told us he’s been having lots of free time lately since his last encounter with the Vault Hunters.

1. My name is General Alphonso Knoxx, son of Guillermo Delphino Knoxx III. This is all the introduction you will get from me.

2. I had to go find one of those old time tweetergram just so I could capitalize. So you know, in the future: No one capitalizes.

3. My major dislike is Mondays. I hate that day with a passion and if possible I would blast it off the week.

4. Only person I hate more than Mondays is my boss, Admiral Mikey. He’s literally a kid. Damn nepotism!

5. Speaking of him, I totally wasn’t the one who pushed him down 30,000 stairs and killed him.

6. Want to visit Pandora? I don’t know why. Place smells like hemorrhoids wrapped in bacon. Classified information on how I know what that smells like.

7. For those who follow my tweetergram thing, you should know that the tweets time travel.

8. If you don’t, you should follow my tweetergramming machine. It’s http://twitter.com/generalknoxx.

9. Have you met Moxxi yet? That woman tries too hard to look younger than she really is.

View images here

10.

My armor is custom made. It’s a specialized Devastator mech with dual Particle Projector Cannons mounted into the arms. Only the best get to wear this bad boy.

11. The state of the art Eridian technology that the Cannons are made from allow them to be able to lock and home in on targets. None of the other Devastators have this.

12. When I’m not guarding the Secret Armory or bashing my men, I like to sight see the many things in Pandora.

13. My favorite attraction is the World’s Largest Bullet. You might think it’s a waste of money but I doubt you’ll find another one like it.

14. The place that I don’t like going to? Easy, Moxxi’s Underdome. Why would I go there when I can murder people from the comforts of the Armory?

15. I had a bunch of ear ringer tweetergram photos that my secre-friendy took but most were damaged when I found her charred body.

16. Before being assigned to Pandora, they had wanted me to be a suicide help line operator. I’d think I would be the last person someone would want on the other end of the line.

17. If you think you can take me out, remember this: I won a fight against myself. Though I hate to say that it cost me an eye.

18. What’s the deal with that Scooter guy? He came up to me one day asking if I “wanted to catch his ride” and I’m sure it was him hitting on me. He’s lucky I didn’t kill him.

19. Of all the guidelines we are expected to follow, I have trouble with the one about not murdering “civies.”

20. Thanks to the Vault Hunters, my suicide attempt was thwarted. Never mind the fact that the large bomb I had was just for looks.

21. My troops are “retarded.” Anyone other there with an IQ higher than Admiral Mickey’s breakfast is more than welcomed to join the Crimson Lance.

22. Despite what people think, I don’t hate ferrets. I just like to assault them.

23. I knew it was time to take matters into my own hands when Admiral Mikey sent me an “important” package filled with 14 sponges, melted chocolate, and a mix tape.

24. I tried to talk the Vault Hunters into blowing Pandora up with me but they turned me down.

25. You’d think someone like me in the future would be more tech savvy than I am. But most of the technological stuff was handled by my secre-friendy.

When Deckard Cain returns to the ruins of Tristram Cathedral seeking clues to defeat new stirrings of evil, a fiery harbinger of doom falls from the heavens, striking the very ground where Diablo once entered the world. Consider Games Before Choosing a Console

There is not just one kind of console video game, and so the machines that are are used to play them are different as well. Considering the types of games to be played, their availability for the consoles being considered and the ability of those consoles’ to present the best gaming experience possible for the game’s genre and content is important. The games developed for Wii tend to be more easily accessible, family-friendly productions heavily influenced by Nintendo’s classic gaming history. Filled with cartoon-like and childlike characters as well as Arcade-style gameplay situations, Wii games are often referred to as “Casual Games,” or “Party Games” typified by brief, simple “mini-games.” These small games-within-games are tailor-made for players new to the puzzle-solving aspects of gaming and how that is translated through game controllers to the screen by the player.

PS3 and Xbox 360 provide the processing power that Action-Adventure, Shooter, Racing and RPG games need.

PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 consoles are the current version of earlier console releases whose user bases were rooted in game genres such as Action-Adventure, Shooters, Racing, Sports, Role-playing games (RPG) and so on. Gameplay developed in these genres tends to require more focus on the part of the player, and more graphics processing power from the console in order to maintain a quality experience. That is what continues to be the main focus of the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Capable of full 1080p HD quality graphics presentation when used with the proper cables and displays, in this area Xbox 360 and PS3 are far beyond what Wii is capable of. Iconic game franchises like Halo, God of War, Fable, Metal Gear Solid, Gears of War, Killzone, Mass Effect, The Elder Scrolls and many others have grown up on these platforms, feeding off of their power. And with the rise of online multiplayer gaming through Xbox LIVE and PSN the high energy, fine graphical specialties of these platforms only continues to grow.

Motion Gaming

Although motion gaming has been front and center since the launch of the Wii in 2006, the other two consoles have their own motion gaming offerings that provide unique play opportunities on their respective platforms that have also found a wide audience. See a breakdown of the motion gaming capacity of each of the systems below.

Wii Remote Plus and Nunchuk

The Wii Remote Plus controller is the standard wireless controller that ships with each Wii. It combines the intuitive motion controls of the original Wii Remote with the precision technology of the Wii MotionPlus accessory, all built-in to a single unit. The device is handled in a wand-like fashion, and uses internal gyroscope and accelerometer technology to pinpoint the players movements and physical positioning which it then relates into a game via a sensor bar connected to the console. The Wii Remote Plus has only a few buttons making it easy to use. It also contains a speaker, a rumble feature, and an external connector for other input devices like the Nunchuk controller and the Classic Controller.

PlayStation Move

PlayStation Move offers a new and innovative gaming experience for the PlayStation 3 (PS3) system by fusing realistic, high-definition gaming along with accurate, intuitive control. Consisting of a PlayStation Move motion controller, a PlayStation Move Navigation controller (optional in most games) and a PlayStation Eye camera (all sold separately), PlayStation Move enables sophisticated, ultra accurate motion control and immersive gameplay only possible on the PS3 system. In addition, the PlayStation Eye features the ability to process up to 120 frames/second and a built-in 4 microphone array for pristine video quality and video chat capabilities.

Kinect for Xbox 360

Easy to use and fun for everyone, Kinect sensor for Xbox 360 utilizes revolutionary full-body tracking to put players in the center of the fun that is 100% controller-free. After configuring itself by registering a range of points across your body, this amazing technology allows Kinect to recognize and mirror your movements in the game, in effect making your body the controller. The sensor is compatible with every Xbox 360, features a color VGA motion camera (640 x 480 pixel resolution @ 30 frames per second), a depth camera (640 x 480 pixel resolution @ 30 frames per second) and an array of 4 microphones supporting single speaker voice recognition.

Online Play and Functionality

Online functionality is a major focus in console gaming. Each of the three consoles can be used offline, but by integrating them into your home broadband connection you can greatly expand their potential. Each posses a significant online component, but differ in the ways users can interact with it.

vg.consoles.04

WiiWare is a service that allows Wii players to download games and applications directly to their Wii console in exchange for purchased Wii Points on the Wii Shop Channel. Online gameplay requires a code to play. It’s free to play and there are no names, so kids are protected against unwanted contact. Through Wii’s online component players can also gain access to hundreds of classic arcade games available for download through Wii’s Virtual Console functionality. The Nintendo Channel allows players to watch gameplay videos, trailers, developer interviews, and even download Nintendo DS game demos wirelessly. Additional Wii online functionality includes a web browser and connectivity with Netflix,* which allows users to stream video efficiently and quietly by means of the console’s low energy consumption internal processing.

vg.consoles.05

PlayStation Network is an all access pass not only to a world of gaming, but also one of entertainment at-large. The service is 100% free, only requiring a PS3 (or PlayStation handheld) and a broadband connection to the Internet. Once you are in visit the PlayStation Store where users can download games, previews, DLC add-ons for games, game demos, game extras, music and streaming video. Purchases can be made using a credit card or a PlayStation Network Card purchased offline. Content can be stored on your console or external media. Online multiplayer gameplay through PSN is simple, yet robust. Simply slip a compatible multiplayer disc into the console, select the multiplayer option and set up your own game or wait to join one in progress. The service also contains Netflix access,* a range of original gaming-oriented video programming, as well as access to PlayStation Home, a 3D world where gamers can interact in a virtual environment.

vg.consoles.06

Xbox LIVE is the online entertainment hub for Xbox 360. The service was launched with the original Xbox console in 2002, and has evolved and grown with Xbox 360. The service is two-tiered, with every user receiving a free “Silver membership,” which allows for access to content such as free game demos, downloaded video rentals, Xbox LIVE avatar functionality and chat. A paid “Gold Membership” provides access to these and expanded features, including online gaming, HD movies and TV shows through services such as Netflix,* HBO Go,** ESPN, and Hulu Plus, downloadable games, facebook, downloadable content (DLC) for games and more. Players use Xbox LIVE points, which as easily purchased online and offline to access much of the online content. Both Xbox LIVE membership levels allow players to increase their Gamer Score, a running tally of the achievements they have unlocked in games. This is commonly shared information among gamers around the world and a source of pride in the community.

* Existing Netflix unlimited membership account required.
** Requires a valid subscription to HBO content through a cable or satellite provider.

Why did I get banned in battlefield 3?

This is the third or forth time I got banned. Alright I was playing conquest domination in scapmetal. I was Doing really good. So as my team. It lasted almost an hour. In the middle of the game I was kinda upset because I keep getting killed by the same guy like 12 times. I look in the leaderboards and he was 1st place. Then a few minutes later he left the match. Then another guy in my team got the next 1st place. Few minutes later he was gone too. Then some guy was putting c4s in flags when the rules said no c4s or kicks. I saw my teammates putting c4s and when they get killed, they were all gone. About 4 guys. Everybody that used c4s got banned except 1 guy in th enemy team. He got alot of kills and didn’t even get kicked. Then the game almost end like less than 1 minute and I look in my scoreboard and I got 21345 points, 51 kills and 43 deaths and I saw one of my squads in 1st place. Then seconds later he was gone and I got back to the menu and it said that I got banned from the sever. What did I do? We did alot of people got banned? I didn’t cheat.

Chosen Answer:

Ah, yes, yet another tale of a good battlefield team-member being banned for the ego and profit mongering of these sick bastards whom EA allows to run around in our cyberspace after the transaction is done. What else is new?

But now that I’m hear, let me tell you a tale of the first time I was unlawfully banned and kicked out of a great match in which I was doing even greater. The first of many:

i was playing halfway through a 5 cqa match on Wake Island (on PS3). I entered an attack helicopter when the whole thing just blew up. The killcam confirmed my suspicions. The suspicions that whispered their way into my helmet after I noticed something crucial on the ground:

There were no friendly aircraft in the sky. None. It’s official, well not yet but soon. What was happening to us was unthinkable, but there it was:

We were being base-raped. In a server that bans base raping.

Now, as someone like you and I would know, base-raping is one of the dirtiest, lowliest, but most effective strategy to ever blossom in the the world of competitive FPS gaming. To trap the enemy in a metaphorical square while mercilessly peppering them with bullets, mortar, and vehicles, literally killing them the moment they spawned was a dream come true, both for your team-playing good Samaritan and your vilest hacker. The game mode Titan was built around it. COD 4 came along and popularized it. Guides have been written in volumes discussing this art. And it was happening to us.

It is one of Battlefield 3′s greatest ironies that people still complain about ‘problems’ in the game, whether in-game, or in the actions of other players. Every problem has a solution. Mine was how to get vengeance. Centurion solved that problem.

Really, the best thing in any FPS game is a big gun that shoots big round with infinite ammo and, if full environmental destruction enabled, can tear apart entire armies and cities. BF3 has that.

It took quite some time getting there, as it was my first time aboard that bloated ship, but I eventually found my nemesis base-raping our other, island base. Fine, I thought, as I started taking deep breaths and put on 115, (fact: playing awesome songs while playing FPS makes you invincible), and started ripping into the steel of the unsuspecting carrier. 3 mins. later, all enemy air forces are down, and I start setting my sights on the tanks on their (for now), island. Suddenly, I was banned and kicked from the server.

As I stared at that screen, truth dawned on me slowly. That gunner who killed me (and whom I later ripped apart as he was helplessly dangling from his chute) was called Xtreme_CoD. And the admin’s name was called Xtreme_CoD. That Sonora*****.

Never trust human admins. Why?

They are humans.

Vintage Batman Toys in Batman

Toy producing companies have always been attracted to batman because the comics, television shows and movies have always shown batman with many different tools, gadgets and rides. They have always shown a fondness to him dating back to his original beginnings in 1938. The following are some of the more famous vintage batman toys that are still been collected today. There are highly sought after and prized, as well as the fact that they’re worth a considerable amount of money.

The Batman Water Gun (1960s) – the gun was created in a more innocent time and its release date coincided with Batman’s television beginnings. Collectors of vintage batman toys like this item for its kitsch appeal.

Bump-N-Go Batmobile – The world famous batmobile is battery operated. It is highly sought after for its display appeal and is a favorite among vintage batman toy collectors

The Batman Bicycle Ornament – This was released in 1966. It’s a hollow piece of plastic made in the figure of batman that was intended to be clamped around the bars of a bike. This item is very difficult to for collectors to find. And is a favorite at that.

The Batman Ray Gun (Japanese version) – This was a tin ray gun lettered with Japanese writing; this in itself has made it extremely sought after. It’s one of the most famous vintage batman toys around. The Japanese love batman and this vintage toy is representative of that! Japan has a huge sub culture devoted to Batman; it could be nearly said that it’s bigger than the whole batman craze in the United States.

Batman utility Belt Play Set – Produced and sold in 1966 this item is extremely sought after and extremely expensive. Last year one was sold at auction for ,000 (mint condition) and this highlights the above facts. It’s called by vintage batman toy collectors as a “museum piece” – the price tag shows why!

Nintendo 3DS

Nintendo 3DS combines all the functionality of 3DS XL at an even more affordable price. Play 3DS and DS games, take 3D photos, and connect with friends with StreetPass and SpotPass.

Nintendo 3DS includes two screens. The bottom touch screen makes use of a telescoping stylus that is stored in the unit itself. The top screen displays 3D visuals to the naked eye. Looking at the screen is like peering through a window into a world where characters and objects have true depth. The system also has a 3D Depth Slider that lets players select the level of 3D they enjoy the most. The 3D effect can be ratcheted up to the highest level, scaled back to a more moderate setting or even turned off completely, depending on the preference of the user.

3D Screen

The Nintendo 3DS system opens up a whole new world of eye-popping gameplay possibilities. The stereoscopic 3D display of the upper screen gives objects within the game world a feeling of space and depth that extends far into the back of the screen. It becomes easier to see the position of characters and obstacles in the world, making many game experiences even more intuitive for all types of players.

3D Depth Slider

A built-in 3D Depth Slider allows you to immediately adjust the intensity of the 3D settings on the Nintendo 3DS system to your liking. The 3D effect can also be turned down completely – all Nintendo 3DS games and applications can be played in 2D, and look better than any Nintendo handheld before it.

Motion Sensor and Gyro Sensor

Portable play control reaches a new level with these amazing features, allowing for new and unique gameplay mechanics. A built-in motion sensor and gyro sensor can react to the motion and tilt of the system, so whether players are twisting their systems side to side or moving them up and down, their motion-compatible Nintendo 3DS games respond instantly.

3D Camera

The Nintendo 3DS system uses its two outer cameras to see the world in 3D, much like the human eye. This allows for the creation of 3D photos, 3D video, and even 3D stop-motion animations, that make for an eye-popping addition to your next photo op.

Set your Nintendo 3DS to Sleep Mode and carry it with you wherever you go to exchange game data like Mii characters, high scores, and custom characters with other users you pass on the street. You control what data you exchange, and you can exchange data for multiple games at once, making virtual connections with real-world people you encounter in your daily life.

SpotPass

Your Nintendo 3DS system can automatically connect to a wireless Internet access point. Once connected, special items will download automatically to your system via the SpotPass feature, even while in sleep mode. Some of these surprise items include exclusive content and promotions from Nintendo Zone, unique 3D videos from the Nintendo Video service, and add-on game content from your favorite Nintendo 3DS games.

Modern handheld gaming has long been dominated by Nintendo and Sony. Each hardware manufacturer has multiple viable offerings derived either directly, or evolving from the respective DS and PlayStation Portable product lines. All of these devices are impressive multifunctional devices, with designs meant to encourage gameplay on the go, integration with the Internet, backwards compatibility to previous games, and so on, but each goes about this in different ways. Taking a few minutes to examine the main features, and getting more familiar with available options, accessories and possible limitations of each handheld is the optimal way to determine which is the best choice for a player.
